Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Honorary Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is the director of its Center for Public Policy Research. She is widely acclaimed for pioneering the study of eyewitness testimony and child witnesses in the legal setting. Professor Goodman has published widely she has received grants from numerous sources and has been awarded several international and national awards. She has offered advice on policy and research to many agencies and departments around the globe. She currently serves as consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center in Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of several professional associations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions of Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology Society for Children and Families Policies and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is part of Psychonomics Society, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children as a Founding Member, International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division, as well as three Divisions: the Child and Family Practice and Policy Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
