Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas, popularly referred to by the name Ashanti was born October 13 the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. Ashanti became famous as a teenager and eventually became signed to Murder Inc. Records in 2002. The same year, she was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? The track "What's Love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule's "It's Always" on Time was a huge hit for both of them. In the case of Foolish and the track What's Luv as the top two songs, she became the first woman to have two songs in the Billboard Hot 100 chart top 10 of the United States. What's Luv?
